The People's Security Agency (BKR)
was formed on August 22, 1945, led by
Kasman Singodimejo, consisting of
former PETA and HEIHO personnel.
The BKR was not an army and was
under the KNI, making it difficult for
the government to control. On
October 5, 1945, the government
issued an edict establishing the
People's Security Army (TKR). The
