The national movement since
1908 has become increasingly
vocal in demanding
accountability from the Dutch
colonial government, leading to
the formation of the Volksraad.
On November 18, 1918 the
Volksraad held a special session
PEOPLE'S RESISTANCE which resulted in the promise of
PEOPLE'S RESISTANCE
“November Belofte”, containing

was never realized, so Haji Agus
Salim left the Volksraad.
