Page 20 - The Wolf That Lost His Way
P. 20
“What is the matter, young one?” came a voice from
the river. The wolf opened his eyes and saw an old turtle
catching the last few rays of sun on a nearby rock.
“There was a fire and I lost my pack and my way, I
don’t know where they went. I am all alone,” he
whispered.
“You cannot be alone,” said the wise turtle with a
smile, “because I am here with you”. At this the wolf
went quiet.
After a few moments the turtle broke the silence and
asked, “What are you thinking?”.
“I should have ran away with my pack, I shouldn’t have
froze like I did. The haze was so enchanting to watch at
first, until it began destroying my home,” Mahìngan
whimpered.
