CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT, COLO., opened the new
million-dollar Umbrella Bar at its mid-mountain Ten Peaks area expanded summer activities. This summer the resort opened a
this summer. The space features a 2,400-square-foot deck area
for outdoor seating, glass walls, a 35-foot diameter retractable
umbrella roof, and seating for 75 people.
ARIZONA SNOWBOWL, ARIZ., is building its first new
chairlift in 30 years and plans to open it for the holidays.
The Humphreys Peak quad is part of a massive $10-million
multi-resort capital campaign that will also fund significant
mountain improvements at partner resorts Purgatory, Colo.,
and Sipapu and Pararito in New Mexico. Snowbowl’s new
lift will span more than a half-mile with a vertical rise of 775
feet, providing direct access to popular intermediate trails.
