Pancreatic Colipase
-Colipase is a protein co-enzyme that is required for optimal
activity of pancreatic lipase.
-Secreted by the pancreas in its inactive form (procolipase) and
activated by trypsin in the duodenum.
-It prevents the bile salts from inhibiting lipase actions.
-Works by binding to the C-terminal domain of lipase, thus
stabilizing the active conformation and increasing the
hydrophobicity of the binding site.
