Melatonin is (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine). It is a hormone, naturally occurring
in most animals, including humans, and some other living organisms, including
algae. Circulating levels vary in a daily cycle, and melatonin is important in the
regulation of the day hour's variations of several biological functions.

2. Psilocin and Psilocybin

                      R= OPO3H2 Psilocybin

       Psilocin is a psychedelic (hallucinogenic) alkaloids. It is found in most
psychedelic mushrooms together with its phosphorylated counterpart psilocybin.
The red sacred mushrooms, Psilocybe mexicana, contain 0.2-0.4% of psilocybin
and traces of psilocin.

Action and uses

       They are hallucinogenic narcotic alkaloid, may cause serious psychologic
disturbances.
