5. Glucosinolates or thioglycosides:
Definition:
The aglycones of this group of glycosides contain sulphur and
sometimes called thiocyanate or sulphurated glycosides.
Glucosinolates have the general structure:

A number of plants of the family Cruciferae yield glucosinolates e.g.
Brassica nigra (black mustard) yields sinigrin glycoside.
Brassica alba (white mustard) yields sinalbin glycoside.
