 Before taking herbal samples for quality control analysis t he following
steps must be adopted:

 Inspecteach container or packagingunit for
conformity with pharmacopoeia monographs
regarding packaging and labelling.

 Checkthe condition ofthe package forany
defectsthatmayinfluencethequalityorstability
ofthecontents(physicaldamage,moisture).

 Ifinitialinspectionindicatesthatthebatchis
uniform, take samples for quality control
analysis.
