Knowledge and Understanding
• By the end of the course, the students should be able to:
• a1 – Identify concepts of pharmaceutical care of patients with different
disease conditions; know and define different health problems
encountered in community pharmacies, identify their symptoms,
recognize factors affecting their manifestations, identify different drug
groups and their main possible side effects or drug interactions.
• a2- State key elements for prescription revision before dispensing,
identify medication-related problems in the prescription and necessary
pharmacist intervention
• a3- Identify and recognize the different OTC products (especially in the
Egyptian market), different medical devices and self-care home tests and
use.
• a4- Identify the target patient groups who need special care or
counseling upon medication dispensing
• a5- To be conscious of the balance between the health related
professional competence and commercial sustainability of the pharmacy
• a6- To be conscious of the role of the pharmaconomist with regard to
compliance, concordance and adherence
