elderly because:
ØMedications (drug-induced constipation)
ØDiet (poor nutrition)and fluids (less intake)
ØDecreased physical activity resulting from
chronic diseases
ØThe power of the bowel muscles
diminishes with age (age related decrease
in gut motility)
