Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in cases of pregnancy, stomach or duodenal
ulcers. Benefits/ risk have not been reported in children or during
lactation. Some allergic reactions to cinnamon have been reported.
Precautions
Drug interactions
The drug is reported to be incompatible with drugs or herbs which induce
hypokalaemia, such as thiazide diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids, or
liquorice root, and may exacerbate electrolyte imbalance. It also
decreases in vivo dissolution of tetracycline HCl antibiotic.
Posology
Crude drug—average daily dose, 2–4g ; volatile oil—average daily
dose,0.05–0.2 g.
