b- Perigynous: where the receptacle is convex, carrying the
      floral parts on its margin and the ovary in the center of its
      concavity.

   c- Epigynous: where the receptacle is adhering and enclosing
      the ovary with the floral parts inserted on the ovary.

                             The Inflorescence

      The flowers are usually aggregated on the plant forming what
is called inflorescence. In few cases, the flowers are solitary either
arising single from the axils of leaves i.e. axillary. The main axis of
the inflorescence is called rachis while the stalk of the flower is
termed pedicel.
Kind of Inflorescence:
According to the method of branching, the inflorescence is
classified into:
racemose and cymose.
A- Racemose: indefinite have monopodial branching and show the
youngest flower at the apex or at the centre and the oldest flower at
the base or outside,
1- Raceme: with elongated axis bearing flowers with pedicels of

   nearly equal length.
2- Capitulum or flower head: It is inflorescence having very short

   swollen flattened or conical axis on which are inserted sessile
   florets as in Compositae. This axis is wrongly spoken as
