2. Medicinal leaves mainly used as expectorant and
   cough sedative:

                             GUAVA LEAVES
It is the dried leaves of Psidium guava family Myrtaceae.
Powdered Guava:
It is characterized microscopically by the following elements:

    • Numerous unicellular wooly large characteristic non-
      glandular trichomes.

    • Fragments of oil glands.
    • Numerous clusters and few prisms of calcium oxalate.
Constituents:
- It contains about 0.35% essential oil which consists mainly of
  cineole and limonene.
- Flavonoids: quercetin and its glycosides.
Uses:
- It is used astringent, expectorant, cough sedative, antiseptic for
 respiratory tract.
