• In some organisms the chromosomes can be grouped, not in
  pairs but in threes, fours or higher numbers; these are - polyploid
  individuals –

• An organism with more than two sets of chromosomes.
• triploid (3n), tetraploid (4n), octaploid (8n) etc…
