Naturally Occurring Auxins

• The most important auxin found in plants is indole-
3-acetic acid (IAA).

• Other naturally occurring auxins isolated from
plants include:

• indole ethanol, indole acetaldehyde and
indole acetonitrile.

• Mainly all are derived from tryptophan amino acid.
