• Glycosides and polysaccharides
require processes for attaching
sugar(s) to a suitable atom of an
aglycone to give a glycoside, or to
another sugar giving a
polysaccharide.

• The active carrier for these
reactions is uridine diphosphosugar,
e.g. UDPglucose.
