Glycogen Storage Diseases
• Definition: These are group of inherited genetic
disorders characterized by deposition of abnormal
type or quantity of glycogen in the tissues
• Causes: mainly due to deficiency in one of the enzymes
of glycogenolysis (i.e. Glucose-6-Phosphatase enzyme,
debranching enzyme, …etc)
