Alternative methods of nitrogen excretion
• Aquatic species excrete free ammonia through gills.
• Terrestrial critters produce Urea - very soluble - still needs
water for removal via kidneys. Imposes a minimum daily water
requirement.
• Spiders excrete guanine.
