4- Cytolpasmic delivery
• Many viruses are not destroyed in the phagosome or
endosome of infected cells (Why?)
– Endosomal escape: ca be achieved by inclusion of peptides &
proteins which can fuse with the endosomal membrane at
low pH. Many of these are extracted or have similar
structure to viral fusion proteins.
