Examples of marketed Liposomes
• Caelyx/Doxil®:
– 80-100 nm liposomes containing Doxorubicin for treatment
of solid tumours e.g. Kaposi sarcoma & ovarian cancer
– The liposome formulation:
hydrogenated phosphattidylcholine,
cholesterol,
PEG2000- distearoyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine,
alpha tocopherol
– Supplied as sterile red liposomal dispersion.
