Carvone

Source: Oil of caraway.

Uses:
Used for flavoring of many kinds of food products and beverages.
It is also used in mouth preparations, gargles and tooth pastes.

      Diosphenol

Source: Oil of Buchu.

- Has camphor- like odor, so it is called Buchu-camphor.

Uses:
Owing to the presence of this chemical compound, leaves of buchu are
used as herbal teas marketed for treating kidney disorders as well as
other problems of the urinary bladder as this volatile oil possesses diuretic
properties.

2- Bicyclic monoterpene ketones:

       Camphor

Source:
Wood and leaves of the camphor tree.

� Most of the camphor of commerce is obtained synthetically from the
       α-pinene of turpentine oil:

No traces of Cl-                            Traces of Cl-

Warming with 1% vanillin/HCI:               No reaction (only yellow-color).
yellow color → blue, green → indigo blue
color (due to contamination of the camphor
with constituents of camphor oil).
