Dianthrones may be:
I. Homo-Dianthrones (Dimers of two similar anthrone moieties).
II. Hetero-Dianthrones (Dimers of two different anthrone moieties).
I- Homo-Dianthrones:
Sennidin A and Sennidin B (Genin), each is formed of two rhein
anthrone moieties, condensed through the C-10 atoms. They are optical
isomers.
Their respective glycosides,
Sennoside A and Sennoside B
They are the 8,8'-diglucosides of these isomeric genins.
