- Glycyrrhizin is the Ca, K & Na salts of Glycyrrhizic acid.

                  Carbenoxlone is Succinic acid ester of glycyrrhitinic acid
                  (It is semisynthetic)

             Uses:
             Glycyrrhizin is the major active constituent liquorice root and has
             been used in traditional medicine for bronchitis, gastritis and jaundice.
             Glycyrrhizin was shown to be effective in:
           - Gastric ulcer treatment.
           - Arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.
           (due to its cortisone - like action)
             Carbenoxolone is used for the treatment of peptic, esophageal and
             oral ulceration and inflammation.
             Carbenoxolone is also used as a gel or mouthwash in the treatment of
             mouth ulcers. Topical carbenoxolone has antiviral activities,
             used to treat oro-facial herpes simplex infections.
