Powder liquorice from which most of its glycyrrhizin has been removed
has reduced adrenocoticoid activity. Deglycyrrhizinised powder
liquorice is used in combination with antacids in the treatment of peptic
ulcer (antacids are used as neutralizing agents for excess HCl e.g.
NaCO3, CaCO3 & Mg(OH)1).
