Xanthine Oxidase:
• An enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and can
further catalyze the oxidation of xanthine to uric acid.
• The enzyme has two independent catalytic centers. Each center has a
molybdenum ion, two iron-sulfur centers, and a flavin group (FAD)
• It has electron transfer property
