Exergonic: chemical reactions with a net release of free energy.
Endergonic: chemical reactions that absorb free energy from the
surroundings.
3 main kinds of cellular work
• Mechanical - muscle contractions
• Transport - pumping across membranes
• Chemical - making polymers
