Source: Sandalwood oil.
Uses: Sandalwood oil is used as skin antiseptic.
Its main component, Santalol (about 75%), has antimicrobial properties.
It is used in aromatherapy and to prepare soaps due to this antimicrobial
activity.
Traditionally used to treat gonorrhea and urinary tract infections.

5- Aromatic alcohols:
Benzyl alcohol
Source: Balsam peru, balsam tolu and storax.
Uses: Benzyl alcohol is used in perfumes, also serves as an important
fixative and is used a general diluent of perfume mixture.
Cinnamyl
alcohol
Source: As ester in several volatile oils gums, balsam and resin.
Uses: Used in the perfumes, cosmetics, soap industries, it is serve as
excellent fixative.
