Type-V (McArdle’s Disease)

• It is caused by the deficiency of muscle
   phosphorylase (responsible for glycogenolysis).

• Glycogen accumulates in skeletal muscle in large
   amounts.

• It results in muscle cramps and muscle damage, as
glycogen cannot be utilized as an energy supply due to
   lack of phosphorylase.
