Chemical Structure of Fat
Lipids are further broken down into saturated
and unsaturated.
A Triglyceride molecule is made up of one
glycerol molecule and three fatty acid chains
Saturated.
The fatty acid chain consists of only single
bonds, thus fully saturated with hydrogens
Unsaturated.
The fatty acid chain consists of one or more
double bond.
Polyunsaturated fat contains two or more double
bonds.
