Chemical Structure of Fat

Lipids are further broken down into saturated
             and unsaturated.

A Triglyceride molecule is made up of one
glycerol molecule and three fatty acid chains
             Saturated.

The fatty acid chain consists of only single
bonds, thus fully saturated with hydrogens
             Unsaturated.

The fatty acid chain consists of one or more
             double bond.

Polyunsaturated fat contains two or more double
             bonds.
