pwT 1 Reading Gurmukhi Numerals and Big Numbers

It is easier to learn the English numbers. Once you know how to say 1-20, you can
count up to any number. There is a pattern in English counting. But Punjabi number

words are all unique. You have to memorize them up to 100. Then you can read any

number in Punjabi.

It is different if we are reading just numbers or years. When we read the

numbers, we say every place value, but when we read the year, we put thousand and
hundreds together and we put tens and one together. For example 1919 will be

spoken as one thousand nine hundred nineteen as a number and nineteen hundred
