Note to the Teacher

Please read this Pacing Guide before school begins. You will need to follow it
every week to ensure that all children at your level receive similar instruction
and that no class is left behind. If for any reason you need to be absent from
school, this Pacing Guide will be used by the substitute teacher to teach the
next lesson. It will also be easy to combine classes if they are at the same

                lesson.

               Note to the Student
This Pacing Guide gives you the learning schedule for every week. We have to

learn many topics this year. We have divided the topics in 30 week lessons. It
is important that you attend school every Sunday, but if you are absent from
school, make sure you do your work for that week. Your class will not stop
working when you are not there. It is your responsibility to make up the work

you miss when you are not in school. You can watch the videos of each lesson
and do the work. Don’t forget to memorize Gurbani lines at home. Any
                unfinished classwork is homework.

Homework: You go to your regular school 5 days a week for 5-6 hours each
day. There you will learn to read and write English and you will learn Math. You
will go to Sunday School to learn Punjabi only for a couple of hours on Sunday.
If you really want to learn to read and write Punjabi very well, you will need to
spend a few minutes EVERY DAY to practice reading and writing. Here are

some ideas on how you can learn Punjabi easily. You have Books that you use
in your Sunday School. Use those books and Pacing Guide for homework and to
practice the lesson you did at school. Follow these instructions.

                1. Do homework each day in 1AB.

                2. Pacing Guide: Practice Fluency words for each week. Set a timer. Read these

words every day. Write how many words per minute (WPM) you read in one
minute on the table on the back of this Book. You will have a test next week.

                3. Learn Spelling words. Write them three times each. You will have a test on

Sundays. If you miss any words, you will write them 10 times each for
                homework.

                4. Do Paath of the Japuji Sahib lines you have memorized.
