Prologue
Something’s Brewing is delighted
that Liam Worsley, Sustainability
Manager at Cafeology Ltd, a coffee
company based in Sheffield, UK
has agreed to us serialising his
origin trip in February 2023 where
he visited one of there long-
standing coffee producer partners
in Costa Rica.
During his stay, he lived on the
farm, worked on the farm, and
tried to absorb as much
information as physically possible.
Liam’s origin trip was two-fold.
First was to document his trip but
most importantly to provide a
case study for coffee farming in
Costa Rica – specifically the
farming practices of Roberto
Mata, and his family, located in
the Dota valley of the Tarrazú
region.
He aims to shed light on issues
that Roberto’s farm faces, many of
which are related to climate
change, where his expertise as a
Sustainability Manager comes into
play. He believes that you will find Roberto Mata proudly pictured with his coffee at
