RE: St. Jerome’s Catholic School, Vermilion Alberta
St Jerome School underwent a significant renovation around 2016/2017. At which time most of the mechanical systems were replaced or upgraded. The following equipment/systems were not upgraded at the last renovation and will need attention within the next 10 years.
North air handling system: This system serves common areas and classrooms in the north portion of the school (north of the Gym) and tagged AH-1. Replacement cost $42,000.
West of gym air handling system: This unit serves the main entrance and common areas west of the gymnasium and is tagged AH-2. Replacement cost $48,300.
Library HVAC system: Access to this service space is very poor, the gas fired furnaces within will need to be replaced within the next 5 years. A study will be required to determine the best course of action for replacement as gas-fired appliances should be located in a better suited location. Likely solution will be an air system fed from the hot water boilers. Estimated replacement cost $30,000.
South air system: This air system serves classrooms and common areas south of the library. The system is also tagged AH-2. Replacement cost $85,400.
There are two package rooftop units that feed the south most pod of the school. These units date back to original construction of this area of the school, these units have reached the end of the useful life. Total replacement cost for two units $25,000.
The domestic water heaters appear to be installed in 2011. Replacement cost $12,000 Please contact the undersigned if you have any questions.
