Education Plan Insights
The Education Plan will be informed by:
•insights from the analysis of your most recent data1, and reflected in your annual education results report;
•insights from the analysis of data arising from stakeholder en- gagement to develop priorities;
•the outcomes from the Alberta Education Business Plan; and, •considerations for the time frame (minimum three years).
•Additionally, staff responsible for creating the EP and stakeholders involved in its development should be familiar with:
•your previous Education Plan;
•any foundational statements such as your school authority vision, mission, values and/or guiding principles; and,
•the domains from the assurance framework, including the required provincial measures and required local components for each domain.
Continuous Improvement Cycle
Guiding Questions
•Is the school authority using relevant data to inform deci- sion-making?
•Performance data is collected, analyzed, and evaluated effectively.
•Insights from data are used to identify strengths and areas for improvement and serve to inform EP priorities.
•Is it clear stakeholders are involved in planning and re- sults reporting?
•The school authority effectively and purposefully engages stakeholders in developing the EP and in sharing actions, progress and results.
•Do actions and direction align in the EP?
•EP identifies appropriate outcomes, measures, and strate- gies to address local goals/system priorities.
•Do resources align with direction and actions?
•The budget is aligned to the school authority’s priorities and outcomes and resources are allocated to implement the EP.
