Reached by a footbridge over the Ria Formosa tidal lagoon, Quinta do Lago has one of the long-
est, unspoiled and best beaches
in Europe. From Villa Vermonte
you can walk along the Ria For-
mosa then across the long foot-
bridge to this beach – a walk
that takes about 15 -20 minutes.
Alternatively you can drive to
the beach car park but there are
charges in the summer.

Beach Activities
In the summer, May-
September, there are sun
beds and umbrellas for hire. If
you want space and peace,
away from this busier area
then walk to your left where,
within a few hundred yards,
the beach is virtually desert-
ed. Water-sport activities on
the beach are detailed on
page 12. Lifeguards are on
duty in the summer months
only.
Q Beach
The Koko restaurant has a beach bar on the Quinta do Lago beach in the summer offering
