DISASTER/FLOOD/FIRE /EARTHQUAKE


            It is important to understand that in all likelihood there will not be


            any Red Door Housing Staff on site in a major event such as an earth-

            quake , fire or major flood. It is important that you are prepared to

            look after yourself and your family.


            If an emergency happens in your community, it may take emergency


            workers some time to reach you. You should be prepared to take care


            of yourself and your family for a minimum of 72 hours.




















              Make an Emergency Plan:


              •  Safe exits from home and neighborhood
              •  Meeting places to reunite with family or roommates
              •  Designated person to pick up children should you be unavailable
              •  Contact persons close-by and out-of-town (use text to contact)

              •  Health and insurance information
              •  Places for your pet to stay
              •  Risks in your region
              Location of your fire extinguisher, water valve, electrical panel, gas

              valve and floor drain

              Form an emergency response group in your complex
