MiCasa (870 East 8th)

2425 St. Catherine's Street Vancouver

The original MiCasa was a 22 unit 3 story townhouse style building built in 1986.

The building was a stucco California style building with a flat roof and no over-

hangs. The building was plagued with water leaks and due to the undesirable ar-

ea at the time it was difficult to rent and because of the program the building re-

quired a percentage of market renters to be successful.

The building carried deficits but managed to have a large replacement reserve

that we used to investigate the building envelop in 2012.

Investigations revealed serious rot issues and repairs were made to slow the wa-

ter ingress and buy time to investigate Red Door Housings options.
