             Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Shehryar
             Khan Afridi, while addressing a seminar at the Government
             College University (GCU) Lahore.
             The seminar titled "Kashmir is Bleeding" organized by the
             GCU's Kashmir Society was also addressed by eminent
             defense analyst Lt. General (r) Ghulam Mustafa, Salman
             Ghani  of   Dunya  News,  Salman  Abid  and  Punjab
             government spokesperson Dr. Zarka Suharwardy.
             Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar
             Zaidi  announced  establishing  a  Research  Chair  on
             Kashmir at GCU to lead research across the Departments
             on Kashmir issues.
             He  highlighted  the  work  of  GCU's  Kashmir  Society  to
             compile a data of human rights violations and genocide of
             Kashmiris  in  the  Indian-held  Kashmir.  GCU's  Kashmir
             Society had been formed earlier this year under his and Ms.
             Mushaal Mullick's patronage. He said the Society had been
             regularly holding academic debates to enlighten the youth
             about the Kashmir issue.
             Earlier, Shehryar Khan Afridi said the role of their youth was
             not less important than our soldiers who are very bravely
             protecting  our  borders.  He  pledged  to  expose  India  on
             Kashmir issue at all the international forums with truth and
             arguments.
             He said resistance runs in the blood and breath of the
             Kashmiri  people,  and  Indian  authorities  under  Modi  are                                            Page 58
             employing all dirty tricks to damage the identity and culture
             of Kashmiris.
             He also invited the members of GCU Kashmir Society to
             interactive session in the Parliament.
             Lt.  General  (r)  Ghulam  Mustafa  enlightened  the  youth
             about  the  real  history  of  Kashmir  dispute  and  Indian
             propaganda.


                                                                        Mental Health Week

                                                                         he  annual  Mental  Health  Week  (MHW)
                                                                         celebrations  were  held  at  the  Government
                                                                    TCollege University Lahore under the auspices of
                                                                    Dr.  Muhammad  Ajmal  Psychological  Society  and
                                                                    Psychology  Department  on  the  theme  of  “Ageing:
                                                                    Challenges and Management.”
                                                                    Addressing the webinar, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Ashgar
                                                                    Zaidi  reflected  upon  the  stigmas  and  perceptions
                                                                    associated with dementia, especially the concerns of
                                                                    the  caregivers.  He  noted  that  the  greatest  stress  is
                                                                    generated for patients with mild dementia about their
                                                                    inabilities in performing religious obligations. Dr. Zaidi
                                                                    stressed upon the need for indigenous social science
                                                                    research on dementia.
                                                                    Dr Syeda Salma Hasan, Chairperson of the Psychology
                                                                    Department GC University Lahore, expressed that old
                                                                    age along with leisure and pleasures of grand parenting
                                                                    brings  many  physical,  cognitive  and  socioemotional
                                                                    challenges which are experienced by the older people in
                                                                    the  form  of  decreased  strength,  memory  problems,
                                                                    coping  with  retirement  and  coping  with  bereavement
                                                                    and grief.
