project, prior
to reconstruction,
hid many efficiency
problems behind its
dated exterior. The
project highlights how
even luxury homes,
built before stricter
building codes, often
conceal woeful
performance and
detailing. Upgrading
the house required
removing and
rebuilding an entire
floor, plus dozens of
efficiency upgrades.
