REVISION HOUSE SCOTTSDALE PROJECT

efficiency gains. By using a thermal imaging gun, Easley was able not only
to identify individual problem areas behind the walls of his Scottsdale
home, but also to get an overall sense of the quality (or lack thereof) of the
original construction and weather-proofing.
How could this kind of foreknowledge help remodelers? “Oh that’s easy,”
Easley says. “You’re not going to underbid a project, where you think you
can just go in and hang a few cabinets over a poorly insulated wall cavity, for
instance, or put in more efficient HVAC, only to find out you need several
tons of cooling capacity just to keep up with poor wall construction.”
