2- Afterwards, Petri dishes were allowed to dry for 15-20 min at room
temperature.
3- By using flamed forceps, standard commercial paper discs of the selected
antimicrobials were distributed on the selected agar and gently pressed
down to ensure contact.
4- The plates were incubated in inverted position at 37ºC for 18-24 h.
5- After incubation, the diameters of inhibition zones around the discs were
measured with Vernier caliper to the nearest mm and were considered
sensitive, intermediate or resistant from the representative charts (NCCLS,
1999).
