This exercise challenges students to think outside the box when trying to use the least number of pieces in a
configuration. Some pieces may need to be placed on their side, while others are inverted and placed on top
of other pieces.
Explain to students this exercise is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. If the pieces don’t fit together
exactly, the puzzle cannot be completed.
