Type 5-1 Finding the Center
According to the rules below, two players take turns to
color the 5 5 grid on the right. If the starting player
always wins, how many different ways can the player
color first?
Rules
1. Each player colors any number of squares per turn, in order to form a
rectangle.
2. You may only color the blank squares. You cannot color the whole grid in one
turn.
3. The player who colors the last square wins.
1 Color the square that is at the center of the grid.
2 Color the rectangular shapes such that the uncolored squares have point
symmetry with respect to the center of the grid.
