Type 7-2 Slicing Colored Cubes

A cube is painted on the outside and sliced into 125
smaller cubes of equal size. Find the number of
small cubes that have zero, one, two, and three
colored faces, respectively.

1 The cubes that have three colored faces are all at the vertices of the larger
cube. How many are there?

2 The cubes that have two colored faces are all at the edges of the larger
cube. How many are there?

3 The cubes that have only one colored face can be found on the faces of
the larger cube. How many are there?

4 The number of cubes with no colored faces is equal to the difference
between the total number of small cubes and the number of cubes with
colored faces. How many cubes are uncolored?
