M ost high schools and middle schools in the United States make their
students do volunteer work. The students have to do some work to
help their community. They might clean a park or help an old person. They
do not get money for their work.
Many students do not like volunteer work. They have to do volunteer work
on Saturdays or after school. They think this is unfair. But volunteer work is
a very important lesson. It teaches the students to be good people. It also
makes their community a better place to live in. Volunteer work is an
important part of education in the U.S.
