B WRITING A PERSUASIVE SPEECH

There are many purposes for PERSUASIVE SPEECHES. You can make
people share your opinions. You can persuade people to take some action.

A good PERSUASIVE SPEECH has three main parts: introduction, problem,
and solution. Also, most speeches begin with a good lead and end with a
call to action.

You want to convince people that you are right. To do this, use a confident
and commanding tone in your speech.

Oil Is Running Out!
What if the world ran out of oil? Cars wouldn’t go. Machines would
stop working. It would be a disaster! Scientists say this might
happen one day. Some of them say people have already used most
of the world’s oil. It is time to use less oil.
Ride a bike for short distances instead of
driving. Turn the heater off when you
leave a room. Saving our oil means saving
our way of life. Please act now!
