the main character

• Problem – complication /conflict that must be solved
• Rising action – events leading to the solution of the problem

Once upon a time, in a faraway land,
there was a young, handsome prince. But
the prince had a problem. A dragon was
on the loose. It was scaring all of the
people. So the prince set out to kill the
dragon. He traveled many days and nights. The journey was difficult.
Finally, he reached the dragon’s cave. The dragon roared. It attacked
the prince. But he bravely ran his sword through it, and it died.
When he returned to the kingdom, he was welcomed as a hero.

The people felt safe again.
