30 Tournaments and Games
Thomas’s school is having basketball tournaments.
In the tournament A, the winner from each round advances to play with
another winner. The team that wins the final round is the winner of the
tournament.
Thomas’s class and Kate’s class compete with each other. Ryan’s class
and Jessica’s class compete with each other. After that, the winners
compete with each other in the final round. Therefore, three games are
played altogether.
In the tournament B, each team gets to play with every other team once.
The team that wins the most is the winner of the tournament.
