P. 37
Materials: Arith. Match board, 56 Number cards,
Game pieces (Red, Yellow)

You will get one bomb if you find the sum 27 or a sum greater than 27, or
find the difference 9 or less than 9. Let’s add or subtract numbers and avoid
getting a bomb.

Arith. 1. Shuffle all the number cards facedown. Each player takes four cards. Then, stack
Match the rest of the cards aside.
2. Put the red game pieces on 9 and 27 in the outer circle. Select one number card,
check the number, and put the yellow game piece on the number. Place the
selected card in the middle of the board.
3. Decide who will go first. In your turn, select one of your cards and place it in
the middle of the board. Find the sum of the previous numbers and the number
on the card and say their ‘sum’. Then move the yellow game piece to the sum.
Take one card from the stack and always hold four cards.
4. Get one bomb (red game piece) if the yellow game piece is on 27 or on a number
greater than 27. The player who takes the next turn places his/her card, says the
difference between the two numbers, then moves the yellow game piece. Take
turns saying the difference and get one bomb (red game piece) if the yellow
game piece is on 9 or on a number less than 9. The next player places his/her
card and says the sum again.
5. Repeat steps above to add or subtract the numbers between 9 and 27. The
player who gets three bombs first loses.
