Unit 1 The Pink Dolphin
Reading Comprehension
Do you know the pink dolphin in the Amazon? It lives in rivers in the rain
forest.
The dolphin‟s body is pink. People don‟t know why. Maybe the color is from lots
of hair on its skin. Or maybe the color is from the water in the Amazon.
The dolphin stays under water for 15 minutes. Then it comes up for air. It
swims under the water, but it breathes the air!
Pink dolphins live in a group. The group members eat together. First, a dolphin
finds food. Then it calls to the other dolphins. “Here is food!” it says to its
friends.
The pink dolphin is in danger. People break down its home. People catch
dolphins, too. Let‟s hope: don‟t take them out of the Amazon!
